Sean Dyche is plotting a summer move to bring Championship duo, Jota and Tom Cairney, to Turf Moor according to The Sun on Sunday.
With safety assured, Sean Dyche can start planning for next season’s Premier League, and it would appear that the Brentford winger Jota, and Fulham’s Tom Cairney are on his list of targets.
Jota only returned to Bretford in January, after spending time on loan with Eibar in La Liga Santander.
In his 21 appearances for the Bees in the second half of the season, the Spaniard has netted 12 times, setting up a further five goals for his team mates.
Jota normally plays from the right, although he is predominantly left footed, which is something that Dyche likes out of his right winger.
He would certainly bring an awful lot more creativity to the squad than some of our current options out wide, and with only a year left on his current Brentford deal, he isn’t likely to command a huge fee.
Cairney, on the other hand, is a centre midfielder. The ex Blackburn man has set the Championship alight this season for Fulham, playing a huge role in the Cottagers surge to the Play-Offs.
The box-to-box midfielder has netted 12 goals this season, assisting a further 11, a very, very impressive return for a centre midfielder.
The Burnley boss will be keen to bolster his midfield options over the summer. With Joey Barton banned long-term, Dean Marney on the injury table and Steven Defour looking set to depart, it leaves us with just Ashley Westwood, Jeff Hendrick and Aiden O’Neill.
Fulham are believed to be demanding £15 million for the Scot, but should the Cottagers go up through the Play-Offs, the situation regarding Cairney could change.
